Who, What, When and Most Importantly WHERE – Why Place PR is Important

Place PR (1)

Seasoned Chamber and community development executive Christy Gillenwater is the President & CEO of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. Her program will highlight the Chamber’s efforts to promote Chattanooga and Hamilton County at the national level. She’ll address the importance of place-making, why it’s important for talent recruitment and influencing people to move to our region, and why that matters for all of us. She’ll also discuss the Chamber’s Healthcare Alliance initiative and other Chamber work that brings industry in our community together.

Christy was previously President & CEO of the Southwest Indiana Chamber, and prior to that, President & CEO of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce.

In previous roles, Christy served as the Vice President of Technology Advancement for the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance following three years as the Director of External Affairs for SBC (now AT&T). In her role with SBC, Christy worked with nine counties in East Central and Central Indiana and served on the board of directors for several chamber and economic development organizations. Prior to joining SBC, Christy was the Director of Community and Government Relations for the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce following her time as the President of the Greater Greenfield Chamber of Commerce.
