If you missed our June program, Kelly Insana with the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) shared amazing information on how the marketing and communication team conveyed information with hospitals during the pandemic.

Insana and her team acted quickly as they built proactive statewide communication campaigns when COVID-19 hit the U.S., during to keep hospitals and their patients from receiving misinformation and transitioned to new campaign plans to involve vaccine news.

Though the hospital association has amazing designers on their team, Insana shared many times where she had to use her skills to get creative and get information out quickly. As THA helped navigate the pandemic alongside hospitals they support, here are a couple of campaigns Insana shared:

When the COVID vaccine arrived around the holidays in 2020, Insana and the THA marketing and communications team had to consider vaccine communication plans and the challenges and messages surrounding each scenario that could take place.

In the last part of the program, Insana explained how THA created phase-based communication campaigns:

  1. PHASE 1 was centered around sharing why people got vaccinated.
  • PHASE 2 answered “Why should I receive a vaccine?”
  • PHASE 3 asked questions to gauge perceptions and misinformation about the vaccine. It also encouraged healthcare workers to talk to their patients and patients to talk to their physicians and ask questions about the vaccine.
