About Blake Poole

Blake Poole is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and a graduate of Furman University. Poole worked for Delta Air Lines for over 28 years. He began as a Customer Service Support Agent and worked in In-Flight Service, In-Flight Scheduling, and as a programmer and supervisor in Delta’s Information Technology Department. As a state and local lobbyist, the last 18 years were spent in Delta Public Affairs, handling government affairs in 15 states.

After retiring from Delta in 2008, Pool joined the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development as Special Assistant to Commissioner Matt Kisber, working solely on the Volkswagen production facility in Chattanooga. He was also a Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce’s Volkswagen Team member.

In 2011, with the change of administrations in Tennessee, Poole became a Business Development Consultant with the State of Tennessee and handled new business recruitment and existing industry expansions in a 10-county region in Southeast Tennessee.

In December of 2015, he joined the Chattanooga Airport Authority as Vice President of Air Service and Economic Development, where he works with all airline companies to bring more flights into Chattanooga. Poole is also responsible for all of the marketing and advertising for the airport, as well as public relations, media relations, and community outreach.
